Coming back to the city is always an interesting experience. Leaving is stressful because of the traffic but you eventually end up far enough away that your shoulders relax without you realizing it. Returning, the tension builds up slowly, a crescendo played by the streets of the city.

We’re staying at a hotel for the weekend. It’s in a small town and it looks like a motel. Our room is on the first floor. We have a parking lot view, like every other room.

Is there anything better than a summer road trip? Open sunroofs, highways, and hearts. The world comes to you as you cruise, completely carefree.

20 Years from Finland
A kitchen timer is an indispensable tool. I don’t have one. Instead, I use the timer on the stove. It works well because it’s digital. Although, the smallest available unit is minutes, which is sometimes too long. I digress.

It’s Nice to Go Home, and It’s Good to Come Back
I arrived home last night, at around 3 am. When I walked in, Riel meowed with a voice that sounded either parched or worn. For the next three hours, he kept bunting me, in between rubbing himself all over me. I didn’t get much sleep last night.

Calgary, I’m Coming for Ya!
When my folks were up a few weeks ago, they managed to convince me to go home for a quick visit. With my mom standing over my shoulder, I booked a ticket home an hour or so before I was to drive them to the airport.
