  • Art Battle

Last night, my cousin invited me to an art event. It was an art battle: two rounds of eight artists painting for 20 minutes. Two winners from each of the rounds competed in a third round for the championship. It was a pretty entertaining event. I’d go again.

  • Day 9 of 30

    Day 9 of 30

It’s been a really lazy Sunday. There’s been a lot of waking up. I usually need to take one day for unfettered sleep each week. Today was a bit excessive, but I’m glad that I slept.

  • Day 3 of 30

    Day 3 of 30

So, my sister will be spending the night. It’s an unplanned visit, the result of a misspelling of our last name. I don’t have all of the details, just enough to know that I have to be at the airport at 22:15 tonight. When I have to be back there in the morning is still…

  • Day 2 of 30

    Day 2 of 30

I woke up on my buddy’s couch this morning. He woke up to go to the gym at around 10:30. I looked at the clock and closed my eyes again. I asked him if it’d be okay if I left while he was out, as if I had any real intention of leaving before he…

  • Sauna on a Friday Night

    Sauna on a Friday Night

So there we were, three grown men in a hot room, sitting, sweating, breathing deeply, and saying nothing to one another, on a Friday night. I had entered first and took my place, followed by a dark-brown skinned man with a cross hanging from his neck, and finally the third, white skinned and naked, cupping his…

  • Imagining Things?

It’s been a bit of an odd week. It’s not for anything that has happened that was out of the ordinary. It has to do with how I’ve been looking at the world around me.

  • Sister’s Orders: One Social Activity a Week

It may be a new problem for me, but I think it might have started in high school or earlier. Over the last year, increasingly, I’ve been finding myself anxious in social situations. It’s not so much in the one-on-one situations, but more in the alone-in-a-crowd or with-a-group situations.

  • It Was a Terrible Second Date

It Was a Terrible Second Date

The worst part is that you have hope this time. I like hope. I like hope in the way that Red, from The Shawshank Redemption, doesn’t. I think that if you aren’t willing to try for nothin’, nothin’ ain’t ever goin’ happen. But, take this from a man who always has a well-stocked refrigerator before he makes…

  • I held a baby for the first time in my life tonight

Here are the responses that I received: Sister: Hahahah you look so scared! But it’s super cute. Please say hello to Jordan and Matt for me! And congrats Me: I’m terrified! Sister: Hahahaha. You look it! Me: Great. Good look for me. Loves Sister: Well you don’t need to worry yet! I hope. Loves Me:…

  • It’s Nice to Go Home, and It’s Good to Come Back

I arrived home last night, at around 3 am. When I walked in, Riel meowed with a voice that sounded either parched or worn. For the next three hours, he kept bunting me, in between rubbing himself all over me. I didn’t get much sleep last night.

  • Whence is the Humble Teddy Bear?

For the last couple of days, I’ve been hunting for a bear, a teddy bear. I found one online that I really like, but the shipping costs more than the bear. I’ve been calling around to shops and visiting others searching for a teddy bear.

  • Not bored and, yet, not productive

Another week of summer has passed. I really don’t do well without structure.
