Sometimes, progress is imperceptibly slow. I often think that I’m not getting anywhere with SANA Stationery & Gifts. I won’t have made a pen in a while or done any woodworking. I still won’t have prepared this year’s ledger or taken pictures of pens I’ve made. The website will still be in need of a…

    Describe your perfect birthday cake.

I don’t like celebrating my birthday. I can get pretty grumpy about it and just want to be left well alone. Last year, the “birthday committee” at work sent out a broadcast email on my birthday. They send one out for everyone but I had asked that they not for me. It went out and…

What was your dream job as a child?

I vaguely remember writing in my notebook that I wanted to be a “thinker” when I grew up. My cousin is a Philosophy professor and I thought it’d be really cool to be like him. I ended up studying Philosophy in university but I wasn’t able to pursue it further.

  • What is the most memorable gift you have received?

What is the most memorable gift you have received?

I would have to say that the most memorable gift that I have received was a Swiss Army credit card pocket knife. I got it for my 18th birthday from my girlfriend at the time. One of my friends got me a white classic Swiss Army knife for that same birthday.

A kitchen timer is an indispensable tool. I don’t have one. Instead, I use the timer on the stove. It works well because it’s digital. Although, the smallest available unit is minutes, which is sometimes too long. I digress.

    My Favourite Drinking Glass

Visiting my folks always brings back a flood of memories. This isn’t the house that I was born into but it is the one that I left. Even still, it’s full of things that remind me of all of my past.

  • How Many? How Much?

    How Many? How Much?

I knew that weddings are expensive but I didn’t realise how expensive they are until I was responsible for paying my share of one. Every cost is multiplied by the number of people who attend. And, and!, you’re treating them! It’s like you forgot to get drunk but are still willing to buy another round…
