I’ve been feeling the weight of my age lately. In an effort to lighten the load a little, I’ve been trying to clear things out. This, as you may already know, is not a task I easily commit myself to.
Today, I got rid of three things: a stick of lip chap that I’ve been carrying for at least a few years, one of my favourite hooded sweaters, and a grey shirt.
As a kid, I applied lip chap liberally. It became a problem. My lips stopped hydrating themselves. Slowly, I weaned myself off. I still carry lip chap in my pocket with me but I use it very irregularly now. I picked up a new one at the dentist yesterday so decided it was time to get rid of the old one.

I got this hooded sweater from Mexx. The store closed over ten years ago. The sweater has holes in it now, likely from the cats scratching at it. It is a very comfortable sweater so it’s hard to blame them for wanting to paw at it.

My dad gave me this grey shirt for one of my birthdays, but I’m not sure which one. It must be at least ten years old. There’s a hole in the armhole (armscye) on the left sleeve. I could probably have stitched it but I figured that would just be a temporary solution. I’m looking to update my look. Eventually. Maybe. If I get around to it.

My sentimentality gets the better of me. The sweater and shirt must’ve been sitting on my bedroom floor for well over a month because I just couldn’t get myself to put them in the bin. They’ve now been sent down the chute.
I don’t feel much lighter.
