I started working on a 6-board chest today. I’ve been wanting to complete a project in the book I got for my birthday for a little while, so I went and bought some wood today. I’m very curious to see how it turns out.
I didn’t film what I was working on today but maybe I should tomorrow. With my lathe being broken, I’m not sure what I’ll post on Monday, if I will at all.
I’m starting to feel more comfortable with my knowledge of what I’m doing. I spent time sifting through the available boards to find the two I liked the most. I did some figuring out before I left the house, too. I really felt okay – not so lost – as I was going through Home Depot this afternoon.
On a separate note, I was thinking about what I’m doing with these daily updates. I like that I’m doing it. I’ve been trying to get myself to publish posts more often and this is working out for me. I’m thinking more along the lines of writing aphorisms like Marcus Aurelius or Nietzsche did. It might be fun to work on a larger, more comprehensive project, one short post at a time.
On the other hand, I don’t want to go too far too soon with this. I’m enjoying what I’m doing right now and that should, really, be enough. If something more comes of it, that’s great.
Anyway, this 6-board chest should be a good time.
