Why do I want enough followers on Medium to remain part of their Medium Partner Program? The easy answer is that I want to earn something, as little as it may be, from writing. Given how little I earn through the program, is the effort worthwhile?
There are other options out there. I’m on Vocal and Simily, in addition to Medium. Both of those websites pay and you don’t need to reach a threshold of followers first. I’m inclined to think that they will soon implement such a policy, however. Vocal just offered me four months on a premium membership for free.
What I haven’t done is taken the time to really delve into one platform, learning how it works and determining what I can gain from it. My focus has been erratic. Really, I’ve just been looking to see where I can get paid. That’s the truth.
I don’t know where my efforts are best spent. I haven’t been writing as much lately. I’m not entirely sure what to write about. Deciding which platform will work best for me has to wait until after I’ve determined what I want to write.
