I had a feeling for the first time today. After this many years of living, I never would’ve guessed that I could experience a new feeling. It took me by surprise, and I didn’t act on it.
I felt like going to the gym.
My physical health has always been a concern for me but I’ve not done much about it. Lately, I’ve been trying to make a real go of it. Hannah likes to run and she goes running. I’ll see her leave in skin-tight pants and a thin jacket that has reflectors and pockets on the sleeves. She’ll come back some time later, could be 30, 45, or even 60 minutes. That whole time she was away, she was running. It’s been inspiring.
We have a membership to the YMCA. It’s a nice facility and there’s a lot I could be doing there, but I’m going slow. I’ve planned to go on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The last two times I went, I used the rowing machine. Before that, I was just riding the stationary bike. Once, while riding the stationary bike, I looked over at the row of four rowing machines and thought, “I wonder what that would be like.” So, after I finished my thirty-minute fat-burning bike ride, I tried the rowing machine for five minutes.
Last Sunday, I didn’t even ride the stationary bike. Once I got into a groove on the rowing machine, I was kind of into it. I could feel sweat beading on my back. After rowing, I used the sauna, which really made me sweat.
