One-hundred-day streak. That’s pretty good.
A few years ago, I set myself the goal of writing three hundred blog posts in a year. I think I wrote ninety-odd. I went in hot, thinking I would be able to make every day meaningful. It didn’t work.
This time around, I just wanted to post something, anything, to my blog. I’m trying really hard not to overthink any of it. It seems to be working out all right.
Before, I had real aspirations of becoming more of a writer. Well, a writer. Full stop. A little while back, I shelved that idea, figuring the time isn’t right for me. I did start thinking about what being a writer means to me. I write my morning pages, which is writing, and I’ve been keeping up with this blog now for a bit, and that’s writing, too. Even still, I don’t consider myself a writer.
This summer, I want to do more writing but I’m not sure that I’ll get to it. There are a good few other things that are on my to-do list. SANA Stationery & Gifts is chief among them.
Why is posting something to my blog noteworthy? Simply because I’ve done it and doing something one hundred times is significant because we work on a base ten number system. That’s all the meaning I want it to have.
That, and I think that keeping up with this habit is good for me. Carving out just this little time to sit down and work with an idea, whatever that may look like, is beneficial to me. I enjoy thinking about things and writing is a good way for me to process my ideas.
Whether or not I’ve written anything noteworthy or remarkable, I’m not sure. Doesn’t matter.
