I’m starting to miss blogging

When the number of unread emails in my inbox surpasses around 1500, I start deleting them. There are plenty of unread emails that have been marked as read but they aren’t included in the count that Gmail gives me.

My method is this: open an email to delete, use “Filter messages like these” to find more emails to delete, select all, and then delete. This clears out emails that have been marked as “Unread” and “Read”. When motivated, I’ll even start unsubscribing. Tonight, I came across subscriber notifications for old blog posts of mine. There were a lot of them.

I used to update my blog fairly regularly. Lately, I haven’t been posting much. It’s been bugging me.

I feel out of practice and clumsy about it. Blogging has become slightly uncomfortable, like a knot in the fibres of a sock. I’m starting to miss it.

My attention to blogging does wax and wane. Each time I come back to it, there’s an adjustment period, and the experience is rusty. This is one of those times.
