Restarting the Mr. G. Tutors Podcast

About a month ago, I found out that some of my students found the Mr. G. Tutors Podcast, Teaching and Learning: one teacher’s audio diary. One of my students raised her hand during a lesson to tell me that I’m not a loser. I was confused but finished the lesson. I’m a professional.

During the self-directed learning portion of the class, I was walking around checking in on students. Another student stopped me to tell me that I’m not a loser and that I’m a very cool teacher. I don’t take compliments well so I walked away laughing. A little later, she told me again that I’m not a loser so I had to find out where this was coming from.

As it turns out, in an episode of my podcast I, apparently, make reference to how people think me a loser. I haven’t yet gone back to find out which episode.

In the last month, the podcast has come up at least twice a week. Today, a few students stopped me to ask more questions about my podcast. They were very encouraging about me starting up with the podcast again. I asked if they were being sarcastic.

I’ve been wanting to start up with the podcast since school started back in September. Each week, I kept telling myself that I’d start again the following week. A few weeks ago, I started putting some ideas together.

The plan is to have an introductory episode out by the end of March Break, if not during. After that, I’m hoping for twelve weekly episodes. That should take me right near the end of the school year.

If you haven’t already, give the podcast a listen. Leave some feedback in the comments. Also, let me know what topics you’d like me to cover in the podcast.
