We moved furniture today. Of course, I woke up late so we were delayed getting started. The plan was to go over last night to get things ready but we never made it. I fell asleep after work. I was out. Cold. By the time I woke up it was too late to do much other than get some pizza and then go back to bed.

I woke up today with a lot on my mind. Well, a lot of ideas about what to do with the workshop. I’m having trouble keeping things straight so I had to start a list. I managed to write down two items before forgetting about it, as well. To help me move forward, I decided that the only thing I needed to accomplish today was to move stuff over to the workshop. That’s it.

    My Favourite Drinking Glass

Visiting my folks always brings back a flood of memories. This isn’t the house that I was born into but it is the one that I left. Even still, it’s full of things that remind me of all of my past.

    Letting Sh*t Go

I woke up with vomit on the duvet. It was over my feet so I knew that it wasn’t mine because I haven’t done yoga in nearly ten years. Riel had curled up in between my legs, slightly higher up on the bed than where he had emptied his stomach. It was only a few minutes after the moist duvet had interrupted my sleep that I noticed Riel trying to take a shit. After about thirty seconds of effort, he shrieked and I knew that he was constipated.

  • Getting My Driving Licence, Again

I got my first car on March 17, 2007. Eight years later, to the day, I gave up my Alberta licence for an Ontario one. It made me a little sad. (more…)

  • My Maa Helped Me Move to Toronto

I made it. After two, rather long, weeks, I’m finally settled in Toronto. I dropped my mom off at the airport this evening, after her two-week stay. You see, she came out to help me move. (more…)

  • Eight Trips to Toronto, in Ten Days

Eight Trips to Toronto, in Ten Days

Over the last ten days I have made eight trips to Toronto. For those of you who are counting, one way is approximately 134 km (according to the signage on the highway, and depending where in the city I’m going), which can take anywhere from one and a quarter to over-three hours. During the summer months, I can squeeze 600 km out of a full tank, which costs about $65-70 to fill. Factor in traffic, and, um, aggressive driving behaviour, and it takes about one half tank to make a round trip.

Where are we on the math? A lot of money on gas, and a lot of time spent sitting in my car. Square? (more…)

  • Upcoming: Tales Of and From Mariposa

During the last week, I have been looking for apartments in Toronto. It’s never fun looking for apartments, especially in Toronto. The pictures on the websites often don’t match the actual state of the unit, and the listed prices are, at best, relatively close but still less than what you’re actually going to pay each month. • Two-Year Anniversary

    Draft Posts

Sometimes, I sign into my WordPress account. While there, I check my stats, which are steady at zero views, and put together some notes about posts that I want to write. In three days – on May 1, 2014 – I’ll finally have the time to sit down and actually write something that I’ll be happy to publish. I can’t wait! (more…)

    Welcome to Mariposa

Last week was a bit busy, but I’m now stationed in Mariposa. I still have to make my way down to Toronto every so often, but that’s not much of a bother.

Here is what happened last week. (more…)
