I need to eat more often. When I wake up, I’m already jumping at the bit to get going. I’ve got no deadlines to meet or people to see. One of the greatest things about the summer months is the freedom to do what I want with my time. But, I’ve overcome with a false sense of urgency, a need to get moving, to make up for the time lost during the last ten months.

My sister told me that if she finds something interesting, she’ll research it and then write about it. That is how she chooses to approach life. I love it. It’s simple and straightforward, much like her. She’s managed to make a career off of her curiosity. I want to do the same.

    “If it’s not a, ‘Hell, yes!’, it’s a ‘No’.”

I think it was Adam Grant who said that. Today, it resonates. I’m wavering on a decision I’ve been mulling over for the better part of a year. I’m trying to decide what I want to focus on over the next year in terms of my career development.

I texted my girlfriend last night to see if she’d be ready around 9:30 this morning to drive out to Vaughan. Again. I told her that we should go early to miss as much traffic as possible.

It was just after 11:00 when I picked her up.

This is kind of how I’ve been feeling lately:

    Deliberations on small decisions

I ordered a book yesterday. Online, it said that the book was available for pick up. When I got to the store, I was handed a bag that contained the notebooks I ordered but not the book. When I asked why I didn’t get the book, I was told that the stock online is not the same as the stock in store because I could have had the book delivered.

Crazy Eight, living in Toronto is like canoeing down a river

Eight years ago, I moved to Toronto because I wanted a change. I wanted to pursue something different, almost just to prove that I could do it. (more…)

    How Many? How Much?

I knew that weddings are expensive but I didn’t realise how expensive they are until I was responsible for paying my share of one. Every cost is multiplied by the number of people who attend. And, and!, you’re treating them! It’s like you forgot to get drunk but are still willing to buy another round for everyone at your table, and for the rest of the bar.

    I Got Engaged

I’d love to tell you that it was an exciting, well-planned, carefully calculated affair. It wasn’t. It was very simple, plain, almost ordinary, but entirely befitting.
