Just over a week ago, I planted some seeds in the tiny garden we have to the side of our house. It’s a small patch on a sidewalk leading to the stairs that access the garage. I figured I’d design and 3D print a watering can for when I need to water the garden. It worked but it didn’t.

I didn’t intend to print it in both pink and black. Well, I didn’t really want to print it in two pieces but the supports required would’ve been on the inside of the can, preventing me from removing them properly. I forgot to change the spool mapping for the filament when I went to print the black piece. It’s also slightly wider than the pink piece.

It reminds me of Cruella de Vil. The slight imbalance is characterful. It’s just got a nice look to it.

I glued the pieces together, but there were some gaps that leaked when I tested it. I tried to avoid putting the glue on the outside of the seam, trying to keep it to the inside where it wouldn’t show.

The “spout” didn’t really work as intended, either. The water pours out too quickly and doesn’t spread out any. I’m not sure if fewer holes or less water is the solution. Some small design changes should help me figure out a better solution.
