It was an unusual Sunday only because I woke up rather early. At about 6:15, the cats had had enough of waiting and started whining for their breakfast. Hannah woke up to feed them. When she came back, I thanked her and fell asleep for maybe half an hour. Then, I found myself shopping for tools on Amazon for another hour while “watching” The New Yankee Workshop.
Fortunately, I was awake early enough to have a relaxed morning. I used the new coffee grinder, and even made a short video of me using it. Before heading to the shop, I watched a tutorial on how to model a shampoo bottle in Shapr3D.
Having the time to get to the shop made today a better day for me. I was only there for about an hour-forty-five and all I did was clean, but it was rewarding.
I remember telling my therapist, years back, that I want a shed in the backyard. Our place doesn’t have a backyard or garage, so the workshop stands in its place. It’s where I get to escape from the world for a bit and build the ideas that filter through my mind.
Going forward, I want to get there more often. School makes that difficult but there has to be a way to make it happen. Riding my e-bike there and back should make it easier, helping me avoid some traffic.
But, it’s the routine that’s going to get me. Putting enough structure around my day, and maintaining the necessary discipline, is what I have to work on first. I’m feeling motivated, but it’s still early in the new.
