Three days until I fly to Calgary for a week

This year, more than most, I’m quite looking forward to visiting with my family over the winter holidays. It hasn’t been that long since I was last in Calgary or since I’ve last seen my family, but I feel like it’s been a long while since I’ve not had to pay for laundry and used a dishwasher.

I thought I was flying into Calgary on the 25th, allowing me to make allusions to Jesus in my private thoughts. It turns out that I’ll be flying out on the 24th, giving me one less day to get myself sorted before the new year.

It feels like it’s been a busy year. I’m looking forward to a busy break.

It’ll be good. I’ve got tentative plans to meet with a couple of people, definite plans, but no dates and times, with a few of my favourites, and I’ll probably ghost on some invitations.

There are definitely more than a few people who I should’ve made time for before I leave. I’ll have to make good on it next year.

Going back to Calgary is always something of a base-touching experience. It gives me a chance to collect myself a bit and start looking forward to what’s ahead of me when I leave again. This year, though, my sister’s going to be

This year, though, my sister’s going to be around for the entirety of my visit. We’ll be at Higher Ground getting warm drinks in the evenings, and we’ll definitely make a trip to Reid’s. She hasn’t texted me any plans, however.
