I’m Not Ready to Date

About three weeks ago, I went on a fourth! – that I got that far should be cause for celebration – date with a woman who I quite liked. She is nice, smart, and caring. If I were to date someone, she’s a really good candidate. Except, at some point during dinner she asked if I’m ready to date. She’s ready to date. I told her that I don’t know and would have to think about it.

Red flag. Continue reading “I’m Not Ready to Date”

Burnt Chips

I tried to make some homemade potato chips today. This is how they turned out:

I tried to make homemade potato chips today. I wasted two potatoes.

Thinly sliced potatoes, dressed in olive oil, seasoned with black pepper and salt, will burn if you leave them in a 400°F oven for 30 minutes. These are inedible.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, except, in this case, if that name is “Al”

I’ve never really had a nickname that’s stuck. In elementary school, there was a kid named Gurtej who kept calling me “Al”. I hate being called “Al”. Isn’t the name somewhat anachronistic? A Survey for Mr. G. Tutors

Hey folks, today, I’m going to ask you for a favour: can you please complete this survey?

The survey is to help me get some information from you so that I can put together a functional, relevant, and informative tutoring website. The idea is to create a knowledge and resource base built on the real learning needs of today’s students and their parents/guardians.

The survey shouldn’t take more than about five minutes to fill in, and I’ll be grateful evermore.

Thank you very much!

Canada Is An Interesting Place to Live, Tonight

In about three minutes, the results of today’s federal election will start coming in (CBC’s coverage here). In about an hour, the Toronto Blue Jays will try to win a baseball game. The Toronto Maple Leafs are left out of tonight’s festivities. And me? Well, I’ll be studying while all of this is going on.

It’s an exciting night in Toronto, the sporting, geographical, political, economic, and intellectual centre of Canada.

The city is lit! Gonna be an intense afternoon!
